  • We ate here for my dad’s birthday as a table of 6. The service was amazing the staff are very on it with taking orders, getting drinks etc. They catered for us bringing a cake with candles and were happy to bring this out for us. Food was amazing, we ate from the pre theatre menu which was great value. Would definitely go back!

  • We had not booked, however we were very lucky and they had a table for four people. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is beautiful and has a stylish but relaxed atmosphere. There is a fantastic choice of drinks, including very unique cocktails. I had the Ceylon Arrack which was very refreshing. We poppadoms and pickle tray. Then we were impressed to see that there was a pre theatre meal deal. In which we got a starter, a main and a side dish for a very reasonable price x we added naan breads. All of the food was absolutely delicious! It was not greasy or overly oily. The staff gave fantastic friendly service throughout. I would absolutely recommend Saba, I’m so glad that we went. I can’t wait till I can come back for more delicious food! Thank you

  • My family and I ate here yesterday after seeing the performance at the Empire Theatre. We all chose to order the pre theatre menu which was two courses for £14.95. My mam got the chicken chat starter (photo 6) and my dad got the chicken tikka pakora (photo 4). I chose to use the pre theatre menu but upgraded to the luxe starter and main for £19.95. My starter was Bombay calamari (photo 5). All starters were absolutely delicious and we didn’t wait too long for them but we also weren’t rushed. We then had our mains. My mam had chicken balti, dad had chicken bhuba and I had butter chicken. Again; we didn’t wait too long but we also weren’t rushed. Staff were very attentive. Definitely worth a go if you’re in Sunderland!

  • This was by far the best restaurant I have ever been to. Customer service was amazing and food was very nice. Staff made sure everything was fine and if anything was needed. Definitely recommend coming here.

  • The moment we walked in, we were struck by the beautiful decor and the cozy, inviting atmosphere. The ambiance is perfect—stylish yet comfortable. The starters were fantastic and heightened our expectations for the meal. However, while I loved the taste of the curry, the chicken and lamb pieces in the main course could have been more cooked. They were still a bit chewy and not as soft as we hoped. With a little improvement in the main courses, it could be perfect. Highly recommended if you're in the area.
